Why Volunteer?
St. Gerard Campus has been operating for 30 years without receiving any funding from local, state, or federal agencies. Therefore, our volunteers are crucial to our operations. We have an outstanding volunteer staff who has a passion for our mission. At St. Gerard Campus, we have an open-door policy to assist teenagers, women and babies in our community whenever possible.
Without our volunteers, we wouldn’t be able to impact the lives of half the people we are serving today. Your time, your talent and your compassion will find grateful purpose at St. Gerard Campus.
- Front desk & outreach – Our volunteers are often the first point of contact in the community. They answer the phone and greet women when they come to St. Gerard Campus for help. Volunteers hand out diapers and supplies, as well as make critical impressions on pregnant teens and women in times of crisis.
- Pregnancy counseling – After adequate training, our volunteer pregnancy counselors meet with teenagers and women who believe they are pregnant. After confirming the pregnancy, our volunteers help reduce the girls’ fears and discuss their options.
- Nursery – While our students attend class in our fully accredited high school, their babies stay in our on-site daycare. We always need volunteers to rock the babies!
- Drivers – Many of our students do not live on campus. We need volunteer drivers to bring them to and from school. Our volunteer drivers also drive girls and babies to appointments throughout the day.
Volunteer hours are generally Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. Occasionally we have weekend events where your help will be appreciated. For more information, contact our Volunteer Coordinator at 904-829-5516.
